Bosnian designer Natasa Berkowicz recycled fibrous waste from palm oil plants to create the reclaimed palm oil group, which was manufactured using the least amount of material possible.
The group, which includes a stackable 3D chair, three panels and a hanging lamp, was formed in an effort to convert the byproducts of the palm oil industry from an "environmental inconvenience" to a sustainable material.
Palm oil is extracted from small vegetable seeds wrapped with fibers and placed inside the grains. A large amount of fiber is left from this process, which is mainly burned for energy or left on the ground as fertilizer.
