This is the fifth edition of the Art Cairo Art Fair and it will be held from February 3rd to 6th, 2024.
This year, Khawla Art Gallery is set to captivate audiences with a diverse collection featuring the distinct works of four talented Arab artists. Lebanese contemporary artist and certified lithographer, Charles Khoury draws inspiration from Beirut's post-war aftermath, evolving from haunting depictions to a celebration of life, inspired by the animal kingdom. Magdy El Kafrawy captures the essence of the human soul, particularly through depictions of women on his canvases, mastering the interplay of tones and transforming oil into the fluidity of watercolors. Mireille Merhej transforms scattered memories into tangible art, utilizing images from various sources, creating a visual narrative that acknowledges the permanence of fractures while cherishing and admiring the past. Jonas Alsayed draws inspiration from the human body, using art as a tool for intellectual growth and challenging societal norms, with an evolving portfolio that reflects a profound connection with the human experience.
