A mysterious metal "obelisk" was discovered on a beach on the Isle of Wight, southern England, after two similar discoveries in the US state of Utah and Romania, which sparked a great deal of interaction on social media.
British media published photos and testimonies of people who said they had found the UFO on Comton Beach on the island's west coast over the past two days.
Alexia Fishwick, a resident of the island, told BA that she had come "by chance on this truly fascinating discovery."
"A lot of people did not notice the matter," she added, noting that she had heard about the discovery of similar obelisks in recent weeks on a plateau in Romania and in the desert of the western United States.
These strange discoveries achieved great popularity through social networks, and many stopped at similarities with strange obelisks from outside our planet in Stanley Kubrick's film, "2001, A Space Odyssey."
Soon these mysterious installations disappeared soon after their appearance.
