New York fashion week took off earlier this week with the presentations of some of the best spring/summer 2021 ready-t0-wear collections. It was a much quieter affair than usual as the impact from the Covid-19 pandemic meant a number of brands removed themselves from the fashion week line-up and the majority of collections were shown through a virtual experience.
Jason Wu opened the fashion week on September 13, showcasing his Spring/Summer 2021 collection as a part of the runway’s ‘new normal’. The show was presented on the rooftop of Springs Studios in Manhatten to a socially distanced crowd of just 30 people. Tom Ford was one of the big names to close the week, with his digital presentation showcasing his incorporation of clashing prints and bright pops of color into his Spring/Summer 2021 collection.
Despite the pandemic causing disruption to the traditional runway experience, this season’s fashion weeks are sure to be like no other. New York fashion week proved that in its entirety, featuring breathtaking and distinctive presentations from designers Tom Ford, Anna Sui, Rodarte, Naeem Khan, and many more.
