A sophisticated hologram by the performance artist Marina Abramovic which was originally unveiled at London’s Serpentine Galleries in February will be auctioned at Christie’s for about £600,000 next year. Abramovic’s “The Life” (2019) recreates the artist in Mixed Reality and required 32 cameras to create, meaning that she is viewable through specialist eyewear, but, unlike in Virtual Reality, the outside world remains visible.
The 19-minute work involves Abramovic, dressed in red, appear to pace around her viewers.
