Some accommodations around the country opened for domestic tourists on 1 June. Hotels must receive a government-approved hygiene safety certificate before welcoming guests again, and they will be allowed to operate at just 50% capacity.
Machu Picchu Village opposes the reopening of the archaeological site, for fear of transmission in an area where few cases have been reported.
The Georgian government announced that domestic tourism can resume from 15 June while borders could open to foreign tourists as early as 1 July.
